‘Round the Farm

Finally some footing for the horses. Lots and lots of crushed stone

Almost ran over this black snake mowing. Luckily, missed him. Not a fan of snakes, but these guys are really beneficial in rodent control.

Getting the brooder ready for baby chicks next week! 300 of the little guys.

A recent comment from a customer reminded us why we offer pork shares the way we do.
They’d had a rough experience in the past—confusing cut sheets, unclear pricing, and the stress of figuring it all out themselves. After ordering from us, they told us how relieved they were that everything was simple, straightforward, and clear from the start.
That’s exactly why we’ve structured our Woodland Pork Shares the way we have. Not to be different for the sake of it—but to make the process easier for you.
Here’s how it works:
1. Upfront Pricing (No Guesswork)
With most farms, you place a deposit and wait to find out the final price after hanging weight and processing fees.
We skip the guesswork. Our shares are pre-priced, so you know exactly what you’re getting and what it’ll cost before you order.
You can still place a deposit or pay in full, but having that piece of mind of no large bills was a large reason we changed our process.
2. No Cut Sheets to Figure Out
Cut sheets can be overwhelming, especially with all the limitations.
One processor requires 25 lbs per sausage flavor. Another requires 50 lbs. That means smaller orders often miss out on sausage altogether, and only get ground pork.
We process multiple pigs at once, which lets us hit those minimums and offer three sausage flavors and two types of brats with each pork share, and a full variety of cuts—even in smaller shares.
No forms. No confusion. No getting stuck with just ground pork.
3. More Variety, Less Trade-Off
Usually, choosing bone-in chops means you lose the tenderloin (they come from the same area). But our shares are built differently. You get both.
Even with a ¼ share—something most farms can’t offer—you still get a well-rounded selection, packed, labeled, and ready for your freezer.
4. Built-in Savings
We add up the total value of the cuts in each share, then apply a discount.
You see the savings right on the page. No need to calculate weights or guess if you’re getting a deal—you are.
Bottom line: we’ve designed our pork shares to take the hassle out of the process and make it easier for folks who just want good food, not extra homework.
Thanks for being part of this. It’s your support that lets us do what we love and make the process better year after year.
Thanks for following us and allowing us to serve you. If you have questions, give us a shout! Have a wonderful week!

With our appreciation,
Jason, Lexi, & Family
