Always check for stowaways.

🌱❄️ As the seasons change, so do our tasks at Longbottom Farm. In our new video, we chat about how winter affects our daily farm work. We’re adjusting how we care for our animals in the cold 🐑🧣 and changing up our farm activities. We also talk about ‘project season’ and what to consider as it gets colder. Come see behind the scenes of what it takes to run a regenerative farm and find out how we keep our farm going strong all year, even when it’s chilly!🚜🌨️

Spiced Honey Ham Recipe

With Thanksgiving in a couple days, we thought we’d reshare this post from 2020.  Still one of our favorites.  If you’re interested in serving one of our pasture raised premium hams, head over to the Longbottom Farm Online Store and check out our selection. Here’s our recipe for Spiced Honey Glazed Ham.  If you’re are a fan of those super popular hams from a big chain that rhymes with money-caked-jam (wink-wink), you’ll love this!

Ingredients:

1 – 3-4 lb ham
2 tablespoons honey
1 cup granulated sugar
1/2 tsp onion powder
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp nutmeg
1/4 tsp ground ginger
1/4 tsp ground clove
1/4 tsp paprika

Here’s What You Do:

1. Put the ham in the slow cooker, drizzle with honey and cook on low 3-4 hours.

2. Preheat oven to broil.

3. In a saucepan, combine sugar, onion powder, cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, clove, paprika and 3 tablespoons liquid from bottom of slow cooker.

4. Heat on med-high to a boil for 1 minute.

5. Pour 1/2 of mixture onto ham and move ham to cookie sheet.

6. Broil with door open to watch for bubbling (approx. 30-45 seconds), then remove from oven.

7. Pour remaining mixture over ham and broil for additional 30-45 seconds.

8. Slice immediately for individually glazed pieces, otherwise  allow to set into a crust then serve.

Viola & Enjoy!

Thanks for following us and allowing us to serve you.  If you have questions or would like to share your thoughts, give us a shout!  Have a Happy Thanksgiving and wonderful week!
