‘Round the Farm

Finally, Hens are back on the farm! Now just waiting on the eggs. 5 today so they’re starting!

All three girls pitched in to help catch 300 broilers. So proud of the hard work they put in and thankful for their help!

The newest addition to the farm. Yes, she’s picking her nose with her tongue.

Hey friends,

As Memorial Day weekend approaches, I’ve been reflecting on something pretty important. The reason we’re able to farm this land, serve our community, and live the life we do is because of the incredible sacrifices made by those who came before us.

To all the service members and their families who gave so much for our freedom – we’re deeply grateful.

Speaking of taking time to appreciate what we have, we’re actually heading out of town Monday through Wednesday for a little family vacation. We’ve got a great farm sitter lined up, and honestly, we’re pretty excited for a short break!

Because of our travel plans, we skipped running any sales this weekend, but we’ll definitely have some special offers coming your way next week, so keep an eye out.

Now for some quick farm updates:

Grass-Fed Beef: We took cattle to the processor this week, so we’re looking at being restocked in 2-3 weeks. I know many of you have been waiting patiently and our apologies for the drought. It’s almost over!

Pastured Poultry: Our birds will head to processing in about four weeks, which means we should have fresh whole birds and all your favorite cuts available again in roughly six weeks.

Fresh Eggs: This is exciting – our layers are finally here and producing! We’re getting about five eggs per day right now (I know, not exactly overwhelming), but as more hens start laying, we expect that number to ramp up quickly. Figure about two-three weeks before we’re properly stocked again.

Woodland Pork: Good news here – we’re pretty well stocked across the board!

To end the updates, I just want to say thanks for sticking with us, especially through these past few months.

Around Christmas, we got cleaned out by some unexpected growth.

Being a farmer means learning to balance so much more than just raising animals and mowing pastures. Understanding supply and demand is something I’m continuously working to get better at.

Some things, like raising quality beef, just take time to get to the ready stage, but we’re working really hard to beef up (pun intended) our inventory and make sure the cuts you need are available when you want them.

Thanks for reading these updates and for your patience as we continue to adapt and grow. If you’re traveling this Memorial Day weekend, please be safe out there.

We’ll catch you next week!

Thanks for following us and allowing us to serve you. If you have questions, give us a shout! Have a wonderful week!

With our appreciation,

Jason, Lexi, & Family
