‘Round the Farm

Cattle love this time of year as the salad bar opens up and it’s all you can eat!

But with lush grass also means lots of net moving. Love-Hate relationship with this netting.

Yep, that’s NON-GMO layer feed, and yep, those are layers! Now just waiting on the eggs (new pullets – any time now).

Hey friends,
Jason here this week.
We share a lot from the farm—family life, building a business from scratch, tips to help you eat better, live more simply, and pursue what matters.
Most weeks, we’re showing what’s working: managing animals, homeschooling the kids, and trying to balance it all. But here’s the honest truth:
Some days, we’re just hanging on.
It’s easy to scroll through social media or read someone’s blog and think they’ve got it all figured out. Like they’ve found the perfect work-life balance, eat home-cooked meals every night, and somehow still have time to grow a thriving business and relax by the fire.
We know because… sometimes we sound like that too.
But the reality? A lot of what we write and share is what we’re trying to live, not always what we’re actually achieving.
We write about slowing down because we need to remind ourselves to slow down.
We talk about eating clean because we just stress-ate a whole bucket of ice-cream while binge-watching Cobra Kai on Netflix.
We post about goals and dreams on the farm not because we’ve arrived—but because we’re still climbing.
Running a farm while raising a family and juggling other work is hard. It’s rewarding, fulfilling, and a dream come true—but it’s not always tidy. The to-do list never ends.
There are days where the best win is just making sure the animals are fed and the kids are still smiling.
So if you ever find yourself struggling to “keep up” or wondering how others make it all look so easy, just know you’re not alone.
Most of us are figuring it out as we go. One lesson, one mistake, one good day (or bad day) at a time.
We’ll keep sharing what helps. Not because we’ve mastered it, but because we’re working through it right alongside you.
Until next time,
BTW: If you’ve got a “barely hanging on but still showing up” win to share, hit reply and tell us about it. We’d love to hear.
Thanks for following us and allowing us to serve you. If you have questions, give us a shout! Have a wonderful week!

With our appreciation,
Jason, Lexi, & Family
