Steve is ready for Halloween 🎃
Few Turkeys Left, Farmstead Ferments, & Grass-Fed Beef Soon
As the leaves turn and the cooler, drier weather sets in, we’ve been busy here at the farm. Well, busy and preparing for Halloween 🎃!
Yesterday marked the end of the hay season for us – our third cutting this year (which is great in terms of hay production).
This dry spell has been perfect for hay production, and we’re excited to have enough hay for all the animals this winter, and more so that it has all come straight from out river bottom pastures (thanks to our two neighbors who allow me to cut and hay their river bottom pastures).
So here’s what else is happening at the farm.
Turkey Sale Recap
Our turkey sale saw a great turnout! We did experience some hiccups due to the high traffic initially, but it seems like everyone was able to get through.
If you missed out, good news – we still have a few turkeys left! These birds are pasture-raised, free of antibiotics, and have no added emulsifiers, vegetable oils, or other injections.
We will likely be scaling this up next year to avoid the rush and because honestly, the turkeys are just awesome. They were a great addition to the farm this year and we plan on offering them for years to come.
Find Our Products at Farmstead Ferments
Did you know you can find our products at Farmstead Ferments in Scottsville? You can find our beef, poultry, and pork there.
While you’re there, try some of the fantastic items they have, including locally grown veggies, kefir water in many flavors / kombucha, and their popular fermented items (fermented Classic Kraut and Kimchi are our favorites).
We’ve partnered with them for a couple years and highly recommend checking them out if you’re in the area!

Grass-Fed Beef Restock Coming Soon
Finally! We have cattle going in tomorrow, and we expect our dry-aged, grass-fed beef back in stock in about three weeks. We know it’s been a bit of a wait, and we apologize for any inconvenience.
While a couple of small shares may be available, most of our beef will be listed on the retail side to keep essentials like ground beef and roasts in stock.
We truly appreciate your business and the trust you place in us to feed your family. It’s a pleasure providing you with pasture-raised goodness straight from our farm to your table.
Thanks for following us and allowing us to serve you. If you have questions or would like to share your thoughts, give us a shout! Have a wonderful week and Safe / Happy Halloween 🎃!
With Our Appreciation,
Jason, Lexi, and Family
