Winter Updates & Website Improvements
Winter means more time indoors, and with this recent weather, that’s been especially true.
We always get out to enjoy the snow when we can, but farm life means taking care of the animals—and that means mud… so much mud.
But once the snow fun (and mud) is over, we shift our focus indoors. That makes it a great time to tackle administrative tasks like taxes (done! ✅) and something that’s been needing attention for a while—our website.
Well, the website finally got some love! We’ve made some updates to improve both the look and functionality to make your shopping experience easier and more enjoyable.
🌿 A Fresh Look: A More Enjoyable Browsing Experience
We’ve added a second color to our website design (lavender) for a little extra visual appeal.
While function is always our priority, we also want the site to be easy on the eyes and enjoyable to use.
Hopefully, this small touch makes navigating the site just a bit better!
🛒 See All Products (Even When We’re Sold Out)
We know it can be frustrating when items disappear from the store when they’re out of stock. Some of our sections even had a “Page Not Found” message.
Well, that’s fixed. Now, all products remain visible even if we’re currently sold out.
Why this helps:
✅ You’ll know what products we normally carry, so you can plan ahead.
✅ You can see it’s out of stock without a bunch of clicks to then see this message.
✅ It keeps things simple—no more wondering if something is gone for good!
🔍 Easier Navigation: Shop Smarter, Not Harder
We’ve added a menu on the left-hand side of each product page that allows you to quickly jump between product categories—Grass-Fed Beef, Woodland Pork, Pastured Poultry, Eggs, and more.

✅ No more backtracking! You don’t have to return to the main store page to switch categories.
✅ One-click browsing makes it easier to find what you’re looking for.
✅ More intuitive navigation means a smoother, more convenient shopping experience.

Stock Updates: What’s Available & What’s Coming
🥓 Pork Is Here! Running late but here. We’ve made it though sausage and brats, with bacon and more to follow.
🥚 Eggs Expected in April – as long as bird flu doesn’t cause delays. We’re keeping our fingers crossed!
🥩 Beef Is Still a Bit Out – But rest assured, we’re working on it!
❄ It’s an unseasonably warm 60 today, but cold weather is rolling in next week, so bundle up and stay warm. As always, we appreciate your support and we’ll talk to you next week!

How To Get That Pastured Goodness!
Want to pick some Longbottom Farm beef, pork, poultry, eggs, and coffee as well as other locally produced goodies. These are the places to do it.
Charlottesville City Market – (April 6th – Dec 14th) Saturdays from 9am – 1pm. A great way to stock up on some local food and treats while enjoying some fresh air. Thanks to all those that have come out to support local farms and artisans in our area. Hope to see you there!
Farm Pick-Up – Order online and pick up your order at our newly constructed barn. Place your order online, then once you receive the “Your Order is Ready for Pick-up” email (24 – 72 hours), pick-up anytime between 8am – 8pm SEVEN DAYS A WEEK! Your Order will be placed in our outdoor freezers / fridge for pick-up at your convenience and labeled with your name. Easy-peasy!
Locally Delivery – If you are within 30 minutes of our farm (availability is determined by zip code at checkout), we offer home delivery to the Scottsville / Charlottesville areas. We deliver every Friday for orders over $50 ($6 delivery charge) and FREE DELIVERY for orders over $99. Simply Order online and we’ll take care of the rest!
