Lawnmower …. meet Fence!

and … that’s not mud folks

Belties having lunch.

Hey there,
Thanksgiving is coming up quick, so if you grabbed one of our pasture-raised turkeys, now’s the time to start thinking about thawing. And if you didn’t, still time to think about thawing!
Rule of thumb: one day in the fridge for every 4 pounds. So if you’ve got a 16-pounder, you’re looking at starting Sunday – Monday.
We’ve also got guides up on longbottomfarm.com for wet brining, dry brining, and general prep if you want to take things up a notch this year. Let us know if you have any questions – glad to help.
Quick Egg Update
You’ll notice eggs are pretty scarce on the website right now.
We had some predator issues this fall, and now the hens are doing what they naturally do this time of year – slowing down production as the days get shorter.
We’ll be putting them up as we gather them, but they’ll be limited for a while.
What Really Matters
With everything going on in the world – politics, news, all of it – Thanksgiving feels like a good time to step back and remember what’s actually important. For us, it’s the people sitting around our table.
I probably sound like I have this all figured out when I write these emails, but honestly? Sometimes I just need to remind myself.
It’s easy to get caught up in everything else and forget what’s right in front of you.
However you celebrate or why you celebrate, I hope you’ll take some time to sit down with family and friends, share a meal, and just enjoy each other’s company.
Turn the TV off. Unless it’s football, of course.
I’m realizing as my kids and family get older, that we only get so many of these moments together.
That’s what I’m thankful for this year.
Happy Thanksgiving!
Thanks for following us and allowing us to serve you. If you have questions, give us a shout! Have a wonderful week and Happy Thanksgiving!

With our appreciation,
Jason, Lexi, & Family
