Why Farming?  This is Why!

Of all the jobs and lifestyles we could have chosen, why farming?  This video shows us doing chores as a family, having fun while trying to make a living.  It’s about spending time with family and building something (the farm) together.

October Updates

It’s that time of year again.  Leaves are turning and woodsmoke is in the air.  Pumpkins adorn our homes and landscapes while cool mornings make the coffee even better.  The cycles of the seasons remind us that everything is always changing and nothing remains the same.  This is a pretty bad transition into how our inventory at Longbottom Farm changes, and right now we’re pretty low on stock BUT that ends in a couple weeks!  Here are a few updates to be aware of.

Grassfed Beef:

Dry-aging as we speak … read.  We expect to be restocked in beef the 1st week of November (maybe the second).  That said, we still have Fall favorites such as Dry-aged Ground Beef and Roasts, aka the “Comfort Foods” that are perfect this time of year.

Woodland Pork:

We’ve sold way more Woodland Pork than in previous years, and the lack of items makes that evident.  No worries!  We took pigs last week and anticipate being fully restocked across the board the 1st week of November.  That includes Bundles and Shares!

Pastured Poultry:

Ditto!  Chickens are at the processor and expected to be restocked late next week.  Only caveat is that our date was moved, leading to larger than expected birds.  For this reason, we’ll be parting these guys meaning no additional whole birds this round.  That said, we still have a fair supply of whole birds in stock.

Hand-Gathered Eggs:

We have plenty of eggs and will for the foreseeable future.  Hopefully you picked up some during our sale last week.  Also, we had a fan go out on our fridge last week, which led to some freezing temperatures in one of our egg refrigerators.  If you received any cracked or frozen eggs, please let us know and we’ll be glad to replace them.  Big thanks to L for letting us know!  We don’t always get it right, but we do our best to make it right.

TLDR: We’ll be restocked in almost everything in ~ 2 weeks and we have plenty of eggs.  Thanks for your patience and support!
