This week on the farm…
1. Canning has commenced.
2. They have requested that we add giraffes to our herd. I’m not sure there’s a market for that.
3. The little ones fall asleep within 2.3 seconds of picking them up.
4. The only time these ladies will budge is in the evening. Moving a hot cow is impossible.

Beat this heat with some refreshing and cold treats from the garden!
Fresh Garden Salsa
- 4 ripe tomatoes
- 1 bunch Cilantro
- 2-3 Peppers (pick your favorite, sweet or spicy) or 1 bell pepper
- 1/2 Onion
- 4 cloves Garlic
- 1 lemon
- 1 lime
- pinch of salt and pepper
Mix all (except lemon and lime) in a food processor, or just chop finely and mix. Squeeze a lemon and lime over the whole thing. Chill and viola!
Sometimes though, you want something fast, and a tomato sandwich can’t be beat this time of year.
Just throw some tomato slices, your favorite mayo, and cheese on bread and your done! One of my go-to favorites on days like this past weekend!
Head on down to the Scottsville Farmers Market where you can find most of the above mention items at our booth, as well as our 100% Grass-fed / Grass-finished Black Angus Beef and Farm Fresh Eggs. As always, our Online Farm Store is always open. Just place an order, then pick up on farm or at the market. Cooler weather is on the way, but until then, stay cool and have a great week!
Thanks for supporting small family farms!
