New Year’s Resolutions

What You Can Expect From Longbottom Farm in 2020

2020 is upon us and marks the beginning of a new decade. The 20… 10s?, 20 .. teens?, … this past decade comes to a close and we are excited for what the future holds. It’s these milestones that get us thinking about the future and what’s in store for the new decade. While 10 years is a lot to think about at once, lets start with what you can expect from us this coming year at Longbottom Farm.

1. Pastured Poultry: Many of you have asked us if we plan to offer poultry. When we started our farm, chickens were the first animal we raised. The egg layers as well as Pastured Poultry for meat. We grew the birds out and processed them on farm with the hopes of offering them as our first product. Unfortunately, insurance and other rules made it difficult to sell birds processed on our farm, so that got shelved. We’ll, we think we’ve solved that issue and hope to begin offering Pastured Poultry this summer! More to come!

2. Sugar Free Options: While most of our products are sugar free, some of our pork items like bacon, sausage, and brats require ingredients to provide the flavor you come to expect, and one of those ingredients is sugar. With some interest in sugar free products, we are exploring avenues to provide some sugar free alternatives in addition to our current offerings. We’ll provide more details as this unfolds!

3. Turkey: If Pastured Poultry is planned, might as well throw in some Turkeys!

4. Improving Your Experience: Our goal as a family / farm is to provide healthy food raised ethically, and in a way that is convenient for you. So far, we sell directly on farm, offer online purchasing, deliver locally, and ship regionally. Now and into 2020, we are exploring ways to make shopping more convenient for you. Drop offs, new market locations, and expanding our delivery routes are some ideas we working on. Your experience matters to us and we’ll continuing striving to make it the best it can be!
