This Week ‘Round The Farm

Bringing the Farm to You!

The last move before we have to figure out how to get them up to the winter pasture. Anyone feeling like a cattle drive? 🐃🤠

#1 rule of Feyerherd fencing: If there’s a line, we’ll find it.

My hat’s off to anyone who has candied pecans before. Anyway you say it, it’s work! (I’m a pec-AH-n person 😉)

A nice Sunday drive with these chicks 😂😂

Holiday Hams!

Thanksgiving is right around the corner.  A time to get together with family and friends, watch football, and cook a ton of food!  In preparation for the holiday, we’ve reserved a few ham roasts to go with your holiday feast, and the best part is they are 10% OFF THIS WEEK!  Just use coupon code hamsale10 for 10% off your ham steaks, ham roasts, and ham ends.

If you’re looking for a seasoned, sweet ham, we’ve got ya covered.  Smoked, uncured (no nitrites or nitrates), and seasoned with sea salt, brown sugar, sugar, and pepper.  If you want a sugar free option, we also have a few fresh ham roasts available (meaning no seasoning or smoking).  Apply your favorite rub or cooking method and viola!

There are 3 options to choose from.  Ham Steaks are cross sections of the leg (ham) cut ~ 1 inch thick.  They come in at ~ 2 lbs and are great for 2-3 people.  Ham Roasts are much larger cross section cuts (~ 2 inches thick) and come in at around ~ 4 lbs.  Great for 4-6 people.  Finally, the Ham Ends come in 3-4 lb roasts and are great for ~ 4-5 people.

Our favorite cooking method is:

  1. Add any spices or rub you prefer (save honey or glaze for the last hour or so as it can burn).
  2. Place roast in a baking dish with about 1 inch of water.  Cover dish with aluminum foil.
  3. Place in a preheated oven at 350F.  Cook for ~ 2 hours (~ 25 minutes per lb).
  4. Remove foil and cook for another 15-20 minutes.
  5. Remove and rest for ~ 15 minutes

Enjoy!
