August Farm Updates

We’re in full swing right now as we are at this time each year.  Keeping up with grass, constant rotation of broilers, in addition to homeschooling kicking back in.  That also means lots of things are getting done and boxes are being checked.  Just want to share a couple updates with you as we head into September.  

Curbside Pick-up 7 Days a Week!

We’re thrilled to announce an exciting new way to pick up your orders, making your shopping experience even more convenient and efficient!  To enhance your shopping experience, we’ve installed outside freezers and refrigerators at Longbottom Barn.  Just place your order, choose Curbside Pick-up at check-out, await the confirmation email titled “Your Order Is Ready For Pick-Up!”, then pick-up anytime after from 8am – 8pm seven days a week!  

Pastured Poultry

Our Pastured Poultry went way faster than we anticipated, and while we’re out of many cuts, we’ll be restocked in parted cuts and whole birds around the middle of next month.  We’re also starting another group that will be ready late October.  In short, we’ll be restocked shortly with more restocking to follow.  Thanks for making Pastured Poultry such a big success and your patience as we ramp up to meet demand. 

Grassfed Beef

We have a couple 1/8th Beef Shares left, and will be taking more cattle in at the end of this month.  We’re also working with a local farm in Dillwyn (Buffalo Creek Ranch) to “beef” up our herd and planning to work with a couple more provided they meet our standard for grassfed / finished, no antibiotics, no hormones.   Hopefully this will fill some of our gaps and ensure you have that pasture raised goodness available year round, including cuts we’re always out of (*cough, steaks, cough).  Thanks again for your patience and support.
