This Week ‘Round The Farm

Let’s be honest, we are introverted homeschooling farmers. Self quarantine is kind of our thing. ❤

She found a new use for the round bales. 🎯

They are my favorite part of gardening.🌱

We will be working on fencing for the rest of our lives 👵👴

Trying Times

I’m certain we can all agree that recent events are more than unsettling. There’s nothing like a global pandemic and national toilet paper shortage to send one’s anxiety through the roof. However, as a healthcare provider I have to applaud the steps taken to make this situation manageable from a provider standpoint. Imagine if all of the people who rushed the grocery stores for TP collectively rushed the hospital for ICU beds and ventilators. We will end up with a triage based system of care where massive casualties will be inevitable simply due to lack of resources. But in seeing the shortages and pitfalls that have plagued the Italian healthcare system and by implementing isolation procedures early, hopefully we can avoid them.
That said, quarantine is not easy. The impacts are far reaching and not to be taken lightly. Now is the time to reach out in new ways to see how we can help. Thankfully in this digital era, phone calls, texts, emails and facetime make it possible to do in the safest way possible.
Here at the farm, we have an abundance of fresh eggs, pork and beef available. If you are in our delivery area we are happy to drop them off on your porch. Place your order online and we’ll bring it to you (We deliver every Wednesday). If not home or prefer staying in, leave a cooler out in a visable place and we’ll leave your order there. We also understand that the quarantine has financial ramifications as people find themselves with limited work and unexpected childcare costs. Food budgets will be stretched thin, but we can help there too! Please reach out to us directly and we will be happy to lend a hand (or a roast).
It may seem strange that a time of social distancing could possibly bring us all together, but lets not let the physical distance make us forget about our neighbors. Cover your cough, wash for hands, and for heaven’s sake share the toilet paper.
