It’s that time of year again, where the masses are pressured to overhaul their homes, bodies, mindset, life. You name it, we’re supposed to change it. We will all be inundated with ads trying to convince us that some facet of our lives is lacking and that we are in some way, not up to par. It happens every year.
But this year, I propose a change. Maybe this is the year that we block out the noise of those claiming that we are not enough, and adamantly declare “WE ARE!”. Dear friend, let this be the year that we look upon ourselves with grace and kindness and know that we are worthy. We have a whole new year ahead of us, and how wonderful would it be if we learned to give ourselves the gift of love and compassion. To value the victories, however small, that happen every single day and to truly believe that we are enough, just as we are.
Farm Updates
Lots of Cool Things Happening!
Spring is approaching and we can’t wait. Gardening, smell of freshly cut grass, and longer days! …. OK, it’s currently raining, cold, and super muddy as I type this so I’m projecting a bit. We are excited though as we have so much planned for this spring.
The barn is coming along, slowly but surely. Concrete still to be poured, electric wiring, grading (for the road), and fencing, but we’re getting there. Once complete, it will be the pick-up / meeting area / farm store and all things farm related. We super excited and full steam ahead.
Pastured Poultry is planned for this year, with our first offering around June. Our goal is to produce enough by the end of the year to carry us through following spring so you don’t have to go without.
We’ll also be tripling our layer flock this year, to ensure eggs are in stock. Our birds are currently a bit on the older side (~ 2.5 years) and coupled with the season, just not producing much. Look forward to plenty of eggs in stock this spring.
We’re doubling our pig this year to ensure we have more bratwurst, kielbasa, sausage, and all of your favorite cuts. We’ll also be offering Pork Shares around April and October this year. If that’s something your interested in, keep those dates in mind.
Grass-fed Beef of course will be in-stock. We’ll also be offering Beef Shares about every 2 months starting in May. We’re bulking up the herd and full steam ahead.
We have some other projects we’re considering, but we’ll keep those under wraps for now. Wishing you the best for 2023 and thanks for following along and keeping it local!

I think I met Lexi at the Cville market a couple Saturdays ago, and told me you were keeping watch for 3-4 cows who were close to giving birth. You told about the sad mooing the cows make when they lose their babies in the dark. 🥹 Have the calves been born?
Not yet, but anytime now. They always find each other so no worries. We’ll definitely have pics up on our blog, Instagram, and Facebook so keep a watch out for them.
