The good news: it’s spring. The bad news: my truck’s now part plant.

The newest addition to the family—technically my mom’s, but something tells me this pup will be spending a lot of time at our place.

Hey friends,

Spring is officially here, and we’re in full swing getting the farm ready for all the animals that are due to arrive. Just wanted to send a quick update on what’s going on around the farm.

🐄 Beef Is (Almost) Back

Thanks so much for your patience while we’ve been out of beef. We’ve had a bit of a gap—our current cattle just haven’t been quite ready. That’s about to change.

We’re taking in a group next month, and they are ready. We’ll be offering eighth and quarter shares, plus restocking ground beef and retail cuts.

We’ve also got a few more that are close, so we’re aiming to stay stocked once things get rolling.

🐖 Pork – Well Stocked + Piglets Coming Soon

We’re in good shape with pork right now, and what we have should carry us through until our next restock this fall. Piglets will be arriving between April and May, appetites and all and we can’t wait.

🥚 Eggs – Coming Soon

Layers should be arriving any day now. I’m just waiting on a phone call from our chicken guy to give us the green light.

We’re also getting pullets (young hens), so they should start laying shortly after they arrive. As soon as eggs are available again, we’ll let you know.

🐓 Pastured Poultry – June Arrival

Our chicks arrive at the end of the month, and we’re planning for our first batch of fresh poultry by late June.

We’re raising 300 birds per batch, with another batch already on the calendar, so we should be in good supply once summer hits.

🦃 Holiday Turkeys – Yes, We’re Doing Them!

Turkeys are some of our favorite animals to raise. They take a little longer to grow, so they’ll be arriving on the farm in May to be ready in time for the holidays.

We’ll share more details and open reservations as we get closer.

🚚 Market-Free But Still Local

We’re not doing the farmers market this year, but we’re still offering local delivery every Thursday to the Charlottesville and Palmyra areas.

You can also order online and pick up at the farm anytime. Just give us 24–48 hours. Once your order’s packed, we’ll email you and you can swing by the barn to grab your labeled bag from our outdoor fridges.

How To Get That Pastured Goodness!

Want to pick some Longbottom Farm beef, pork, poultry, eggs, and coffee as well as other locally produced goodies. These are the places to do it.

Farm Pick-Up – Order online and pick up your order at our newly constructed barn. Place your order online, then once you receive the “Your Order is Ready for Pick-up” email (24 – 72 hours), pick-up anytime between 8am – 8pm SEVEN DAYS A WEEK! Your Order will be placed in our outdoor freezers / fridge for pick-up at your convenience and labeled with your name. Easy-peasy!

Locally Delivery – We offer local home delivery to the Scottsville / Charlottesville / Palmyra areas (availability is determined by zip code at checkout). We deliver every Thursday for orders over $50 ($6 delivery charge) and FREE DELIVERY for orders over $99. Simply Order online and we’ll take care of the rest!
